Algebra B Math: Domain and Range

In this topic, the student learns how to find the domain and range of equations. In this series of three lessons, the student learns how to find the domain and range of linear, rational, polynomial, and radical functions

The student sees how some functions have restrictions on the input.

Domain and Range I

This lesson teaches the student how to find the domain and range of linear functions. The lesson also describes how to find the domain of rational functions. The concept of vertical asymptotes is discussed to explain how the domain of rational functions is restricted.

Domain and Range II

In this lesson, the student learns how to find the domain and range of polynomial functions. The student sees how if the order of the polynomial is odd, the domain and range are all real numbers. The student also sees how the range of an even-ordered polynomial is not all real numbers.

Domain and Range III

This lesson explains how to find the domain and range of radical functions. The student sees how both the domain and range are restricted if the radical is of an even order while the domain and range of an odd-ordered radical function is all real numbers.
