Algebra A Math: Absolute Value Equations

In this topic, the student learns the fundamentals of absolute value equations. This topic of three lessons introduces the student to finding the solution to absolute value equations. The student is first introduced to very basic absolute value equations and shown the idea behind solving them. This foundation is used to build up to more complex absolute value equations.

The student learns how to determine how many solutions exist for a given absolute value equation. In this way, the student is introduced to equations with more than one solution.

Basic Absolute Value Equations

In this lesson, the student learns how to solve basic absolute value equations. The student learns how to determine the solution to basic absolute value equations. The student is also introduced to absolute value equations that have no solutions.

Absolute Value Equations II

This lesson introduces the student to more difficult absolute value equations. The student learns how to handle these more complex equations.

Absolute Value Equations III

This lesson continues the discussion of absolute value equations. The student learns how to handle even more complex absolute value equations in this lesson. The lesson shows the student how to convert these more complex examples into absolute value equations they already know how to solve.
