Objectives
The overall objectives of GAINS are two-fold:
1. to produce substantial gains in achievement that are reflected in
higher scores on state and national standardized tests
2. to create a much more positive climate within the school related to
the teaching and learning of math

Curriculum
At the heart of GAINS is our instructional program called iPASS. It is a comprehensive curriculum built from state
standards that is implemented within our proprietary instructional delivery and management system. iPASS is an internet-enabled
software program for delivering and managing math instruction. It uses technology in an innovative manner to make it much easier
for a teacher to deliver truly differentiated instruction to each student.

Implementation
However, GAINS is not just software. It's based on the recognition that software alone will not improve achievement.
It takes a concerted effort of dedicated teachers and administrators working together in innovative ways toward a common goal.
Because of this, a critical element of GAINS is a comprehensive system for planning, implementing and managing a math
intervention effort for targeted students. It's based on a data-driven approach that identifies specific, measurable desired
outcomes and makes it easy to manage all resources and activities to achieve them.
Under GAINS, iLearn takes an active role in the management of the implementation of a school's math Intervention program.
Once a school agrees to implement a math Intervention program with GAINS, iLearn personnel become partners with school
personnel to facilitate the implementation according to plan and maximize the likelihood the desired results will obtained.
The first step is for the School and iLearn to agree on an implementation plan, and for all personnel involved in the
implementation to agree on goals for the program and their role in the implementation. The plan will clearly specify roles,
responsibilities, and tangible goals for each participant, including students, teachers, principals, and any school and/or
District staff or administrators involved. During the school year, iLearn will then provide monthly reports to all participants
and review the progress against the stated goals of the implementation plan. If the data monitored by iLearn indicate that
the implementation is not proceeding according to plan, and goals are not being met, iLearn personnel will contact the
appropriate school and/or District personnel to discuss the corrections needed and schedule follow-up visits as necessary.

Other Benefits
The GAINS program also includes a number of other benefits and services. For example, the calendar used as a basis for
reporting on student progress and implementation management is customized to the school. This allows much more accurate
and precise assessment of student and teacher performance for reporting purposes. In addition, GAINS program schools
receive priority for technical and implementation support services.
Finally, under the GAINS program, results are guaranteed. If the participating students average at least 100 hours of
usage of iPASS for the school year, iLearn guarantees that the percentage of students who score at the "Proficient" level
in math on the state test used for AYP assessment will increase by a specified amount. (The actual amount is based on a
number of factors, including the state and the current scores for the school.) If the specified gain is not obtained,
the school has the option to discontinue use of the program and receive a full refund of all money
paid to iLearn for the purchase of GAINS.
